Turkey Rama is in Full Swing!

If you've been in downtown McMinnville, anywhere around 3rd street over the last 24 hours, you have no doubt noticed all the hard work and fuss being put into this year's Turkey Rama. With many streets being closed off for the street fair, OMI's (Oregon Mutual Insurance's) parking lot being turned into a short term carnival until Sunday afternoon, and the July 14th Classic Car Auto Show, there's going to be plenty to do in McMinnville over the next four days (July 
11-14).

Carnival rides will open at 3 pm for the kick-off of Turkey Rama this Thursday.Rides will be open from 3 to 10 p.m, with a gondola-style Ferris wheel, the Vertigo swing called the Fireball and other thrill rides. All day Thursday rides will be just $2. Wristbands and other discounts will be offered daily at the carnival running through Sunday.

Also, it should be noted that the weekly farmers’ market on Thursday will go on from 1 to 6 p.m., as usual.

The North Valley Cruise-In is scheduled for Saturday the 14th, which has become a summer staple of the McMinnville area over the years. Starting at 8 am and concluding at 3 pm, people will be able to admire the stunningly restored vehicles and even be able to meet the owners.

The second annual Mac SummerFest Parade will be occurring at the very end of the North Valley Cruisers, Saturday, July 14 at 5:30 pm. For a complete look at the Parade, and route, just click on the link to the left, or Google search the parade route.

Check out HIGH FLYERS Basketball, TONIGHT!

If anyone is looking for something to do this evening in or around McMinnville, 

come check out the first home game of the season for the YAMHILL HIGH 

FLYERS! The HIGH FLYERS have a rosters full of players from the University of 

Oregon, Hawaii, Cornell, Brown and many more!! The game is at Ted Wilson 

Gymnasium on Linfield's campus. Tickets are $8 at the door and tip-off is at 7:15!!!

This video shows how McMinnville Municipal Airport can handle a HUGE 747! This 747 eventually is hoisted by crane on to the top of Evergreen Aviation's Wings and Waves water park.
