If your coming to McMinnville for the weekend and are wondering what's there to do in such a small city? Well, look no further! This list spans from one end of McMinnville to the other, all while being able to relax in the <i>Heart of Oregon Wine Country</i>!
1. Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. Evergreen's campus has literally everything an aviation buff could ever want to see. Will two full hangers of planes and space equipment, it features the legendary Spruce Goose, a Titan II rocket, an IMAX theater and even a water park!
2. Take a wine tasting tour in Historic Downtown Third Street. Offered most weekends. With so many tasting rooms with in walking distance from one another, you might not have enough time to visit the next attraction on the list.
3. Visit the Roof Top Bar at McMenamins Hotel Oregon. Offering a 360 degree view of the surrounding valley, this vista isn't to be missed. This local hot spot offers two convenient Happy Hours, one form 3-6 PM, and 10 PM - Close (which is between 12 AM and 2 AM depending on the day.) They offer cheap burgers and fries, along with cheaper Micro-Brews from McMenamins.
4. Grab a bite to
eat at any of Third Streets many award-winning eateries. Thistle, La Ramba, Bistro Maison, The Community Plate and many, many more line Third Street. Often written about in the New York Times, these small kitchens use local veggies and meat.
5. Check out the new Granary District. Featuring food carts, an indoor marketplace, specialty
shops, bakery and even a spa. The Granary District has something for everyone! On the weekends the Public Market is open. With rows of vendors full of unique goods, its hard not to leave without a bag full of goodies!
